Yesterday my website was working fine. Today I checked it again and it’s down. In the Chrome window I see the message: ‘This website can’t be reached’. Why is this happening? Can you fix it? Thank you very much.
I’ve tried it on my PC connected via Ethernet, and on my cell phone with Wi-Fi and data (4G), and my site still isn’t working.
I also asked a friend to try to view the website from his home, and it also appears down for him.
Given that I can see it, I can say with certainty its not a hosting specific issue. If it was, noone would be able to see it.
Instead this would suggest that either:
1 - something on your side (And your friends side) is blocking access, such as an ISP block or similar. you could try a free VPN or the 1.1.1.1 app on your phone to test this.
2 - your IP is in a range that was involved in suspicious traffic or a DDOS attack and has been blocked. Unfortunately, only admin can look into that.

I installed app version 1.1.1.1 on my phone and was able to view my website successfully. Then, I deactivated it and the initial problem returned. So, my questions are: Is this behavior indicative of a DDoS attack? How long will it take the admin to look into my issue? My website is my professional portfolio, and I can’t be requiring everyone who tries to view it to install app version 1.1.1.1 to avoid display problems.

This behaviour is indicitive of your internet\data provider blocking the domain at the DNS level.
This happens a lot with free hosting domains
Honestly, as a professional website, your best bet is to get a custom domain (such as a free .pp.ua from nic.ua) and add it as a parked\alias domain. Custom domains like that are rarely blocked by ISP’s
Since it’s not a hosting problem, there isn’t anything to look into. The fact that you can access your page with 1.1.1.1 proves that its not an IP block. And that means that the block is most likely on your end
Why is this happening? Don’t you have any other solution? It’s a bit annoying having to change domain again.
Unfortunately free hosting, and especially free subdomains, get abused quite a lot. InfinityFree is generally good about taking down abusive sites quickly, but some ISPs and DNS resolvers still see fit to block the free subdomains.
In theory, you can go to your ISP and ask them to unblock your site. But that only fixes it for your ISP. Honestly, what do you want us to do? Its not a hosting problem, and (apart from admin) we don’t work for InfinityFree or your ISP.
Well, the freedev.app domain belongs to you, which is why I asked for a solution. Telling me to ask my ISP to unblock my site is the same as telling everyone who wants to visit my site that they first have to install the 1.1.1.1 app on all their devices to view it without problems. I know this is free hosting, but it’s annoying that I have to keep creating domains because the one I had before keeps getting blocked.
At least tell me if the freedev.app domain is blocked, like what happened with howto.rocks. Something that will give me some clarity on the matter.

My site is simply a professional portfolio where I try to promote myself to find work, not a high-traffic e-commerce site. I believe labeling my site as abusive one is very wrong.
It is not you, but rather other “noisy” neighbours that caused your site to be affected
Well im just a community member, who volunteers my time. So I have no more power over the domain that you do.
But your the customer of your isp. Neither me nor admin have any relationship with you’re isp.
How would we know of something on your side is blocking the domain?
Our domain name is fully up and running. If your ISP is blocking access to your website, then that’s a deliberate block, performed by your ISP, and only your ISP can resolve it.
Since you are the customer of your ISP, and you can actually verify that the block exists, you are in a much better position to get this resolved than we are.
Please contact your ISP and ask them about this issue. Only they can solve this.
