Domains using third party nameservers are not affected by this.
What issues may you see
You may see various DNS related error messages and error codes when trying to access your website, such as DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.
Due to the distributed nature of the nameservers, different regions of the world may see different results.
The issue also doesn’t appear to affect all domains equally. The 42web.io domain seems to have been much harder to reach than other domains. It’s not clear at this time why that is.
When will this issue be resolved
The nameservers appear to be stabilizing now, but you may still see some issues until the root cause is resolved. We cannot say anything for certain about when that will be.
The issues were caused by a DDoS attack targeted at the 42web.io domain. This is what caused the nameserver issues. To help mitigate these issues, the 42web.io was temporarily disabled in the nameservers to allow other traffic to keep working as well as it could.
The immediate issues appear to have been solved now.
Seems to be working my end. Try clearing you browser cache. If that doesn’t work start your own thread with a link to your site and a description of the issues and well try and help
Have you tried accessing them on a different network or with a VPN?
It sounds like your ISP or network admin might be blocking the rf.gd domain. also try going to “https://rf.gd/” If you can’t access that, it would support your ISP are blocking the domain
The DNS issues have been fixed a few days ago. According to our own monitoring, the nameservers stabilized last Friday evening. I received confirmation on Saturday morning from iFastNet that the issue was fully resolved and mitigations have been implemented to help prevent similar issues.
If you’re still having issues now, then that issue is something else.
Regarding the freesite.online domain, that’s because the domain was taken down by the registry again. I’ll write an announcement for that shortly.
If you’re having any issue with any other domain, it’s not related to either outage. If you need help with that, please open a new Hosting Support topic with more information about the issue you’re having.
