IMPACT: The file manager is having various issues related to uploading files.
AFFECTED: The MonstaFTP file manager.
STATUS: Monitoring
NEXT UPDATE: When there are major modifications to address issues.

WORKAROUND: We recommend uploading files with a desktop FTP client instead, like FileZilla: How to upload files with FTP.

Alternatively, we have a testing installation of Filestash. You can try it, but we make no guarantees about reliability or available. You can login with your hosting account username and password: InfinityFree Filestash

I just received an update from iFastNet saying that they have made some changes to the file manager that should make file uploads, and especially zip file uploads, much more resilient. Please have a look and see if it works for you now!

Well, it seems like the changes aren’t working well for me.

First, Zip Uploads aren’t working right. I tested this with my own installation also, and I received the same issue, so I think this may be a MonstaFTP issue right now.

Second, I’m still seeing the filecheck flagging files that aren’t malicious. Out of the 7 files, 3 files (all PHP) were incorrectly flagged.

Third, folder uploads error out with a 404/ mid-transfer. I tested this with my own installation, and I did not have this issue.

What is good is that file and folder creation and deletion now work as intended.

(What I find odd is that filecheck checks files mid-upload, according to the file progress bar.)

That’s just a monsta thing I think, the first half is actual upload progress and the second half is always post-upload check.

But then Monsta somehow used that progress directly with file size thus creating a sense of mid-upload check thingy.

If you look at successful uploads, you’ll notice how the file upload progress jumped from 50% to 100%.

There’s more than that
did try to uplod zip file it uploaded but the file not showing ( used just uplod option )
upload zip using uplaod and unzip if filed while extracting ( some error )
did try to downlaod all file , file corrupt cant unzip
zip with more file causing problem ( i tested my self )
small zip with only files , not folder are uplaoding and extract without any error

i prefer file manger over ftp ! please fix it

iFastNet completely replaced the upload and zip file handling in MostaFTP. But I’ve also been told that MonstaFTP is very complex, which makes it both error prone and hard to fix.

I just did some testing myself and some functionality improves. Uploading zip files works most of the time, uploading regular files does too, and downloading zip files works great now. But uploading directories doesn’t seem to work well at all.

This may be a MonstaFTP issue, as I am unable to upload directories successfully with my own installations.

From what I understand, all issues that are happening are MonstaFTP issues.

Until now, iFastNet was running an unmodified version of MonstaFTP. But this new update has been so problematic that there were forced to fix issues themselves because the MonstaFTP developers don’t fix it, or at least not fast enough.

It appears that there was a temporary issue that resulted in the file manager being complete unavailable, responding with a 403 Forbidden error. That issue has been resolved now.
