Databases missing from Client Area and cPanel phpMyAdmin, but website connects fine

Error Message

No databases found on this account (in Client Area MySQL list and cPanel phpMyAdmin page). Account username: if0_38486151.

Other Information

Hi,
On my hosting account if0_38486151, the databases are not listed anymore (“No databases found on this account”) in both the client area MySQL section and the cPanel phpMyAdmin page.
However, the website is completely functional: the PHP backend and booking pages are successfully connecting to the MySQL database, reading data, and inserting new records without any connection errors.
It appears to be a control panel metadata / synchronization issue with the database list for this account. Could you please check or trigger a resync?
Thank you!

Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.

  • Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
  • Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
  • AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.

The control panel list matches what the account shows on our side: it has no MySQL databases. So I’d start from what your site is connecting to.

Could you tell me the database host and the database name from your site’s config file (leave the password out)? If the name starts with a different prefix than if0_38486151, or the host isn’t sql209, the site may be connected to a database on another account, and that would explain why this account’s list is empty.

Here are the connection details from my configuration file (passwords omitted):

  • DB Host: sql209.infinityfree.com
  • DB Username: if0_38486151
  • Active Database Names:
    • if0_38486151_bookings_db
    • if0_38486151_articoli_db

As you can see, the host is indeed sql209 and both databases carry the prefix if0_38486151. They are running on this exact account and actively handling live traffic right now, but they are not listed in the control panel or phpMyAdmin.

Could a staff member please look into resyncing the database metadata for account if0_38486151?

I’m sorry for the delay in investigating this.

There was an issue with database server sql209, where databases on that server could be viewed by the members area or control panel.

The databases themselves still exist, and websites that were already set up could still use them, but viewing them in the members area or control panel did not work.

Creating databases also did not work, and any databases you may have attempted to create were not created, despite the panel saying the creation was successful. That issue is also resolved, so please try again now to create the database.

Thank you very much for the update and for resolving the issue!

I’ve just checked, and both databases are now clearly visible and accessible from the control panel and phpMyAdmin.

Thanks again for your support!
