Custom domain not adding to Addon Domains section (Already updated nameservers)

Hello InfinityFree Team,

I’m trying to add my custom domain “knowledgebased360.com” to my hosting account using the Addon Domains section, but I’m getting this error:

“This domain is already assigned and in use… or nameservers not set.”

I’ve already changed the nameservers to InfinityFree default ones, and I confirmed the propagation is complete using an external DNS tool.

I only have one hosting account and this is the first time I’m trying to add this domain.

Please help me unlock or reset this domain so I can use it with my account.

Thank you.

It might need some time from 15 min to 24 hrs .

Thanks for your response.

But it has already been more than [3 days] since I updated the nameservers and I’ve tried adding the domain multiple times.

The domain is still not adding to my account and keeps showing the same error.

Can you please help reset or release the domain on your end so I can add it successfully?

Thank you.

Hello, and welcome to the InfinityFree Forum!

It looks like your domain is not assigned to an InfinityFree account. Try adding your domain to your InfinityFree account now.

Hi, Jri-Creator
Thank you for your response.

Just to clarify, I had already added my domain “knowledgebased360.com” to my InfinityFree account around 3 days ago.

At that time, the system accepted the domain without any error, but it never showed up in my Addon Domains list, nor did it appear anywhere in my control panel, File Manager, or domains section. It seems like the domain is stuck or partially added in the backend.

Now, when I try to add it again, I get the same error saying “This could be due to already adding the domain to this or another account or, you have not changed the nameservers as required or not enough time has passed since changing the nameservers..”

Can you please check and manually release or reset the domain from your system so I can properly add it again?

Thank you for your help and time.

what happens if you remove the domain in control panel, and then try adding the domain in the dashboard rather than your control panel?

Thanks for your suggestion.

I just tried adding the domain from the client area/dashboard instead of the control panel, but I’m getting the following error:

“The hosting platform did not detect the correct DNS settings on your account! Please verify your settings, or try again later.”

However, my domain is already pointing to the correct InfinityFree nameservers:

It has been more than 3 days since the nameservers were updated, and DNS propagation has completed globally.

Still, the system is not detecting the domain properly, and I can’t add it via control panel or client area. It seems the domain is stuck in the backend.

Thanks again for your help.

I checked knowledgebased360.com, but it doesn’t appear to have ever been used on our platform.

The nameservers seem to be correct on your domain name, so I don’t know why the hosting system says they are not. I’ll look into that.

iFastNet looked into it, and claim they were able to add the domain to your account without any issues.

I don’t know why it worked for them, but at least your domain is assigned to your account now.
