CPU usage is over the limit, but the site still works?

Hi there,

The site stopped working for a bit due to CPU usage being over threshold:

It was due to a poorly coded plugin. But then the site resumed just fine.

What are the rules of site suspension due to CPU usage overage?

Does the hosting suspend it for like a few hours and then restores the access? Cuz I thought it would be down for a day, but it’s up and working. I’m a bit confused.

I think this would apply:

the reason is that there is some delay between when the usage is happening and the account actually being suspended. The system first needs to gather the data, check that the limit is reached, and then perform the suspension. During that delay, your website is still active and can generate additional server load, which is how you can exceed the limit.
