Cloudflare ssl error

Hi. I added my site on cloudflare, connected the cnam on my domain provider. added cloudflare ssl (flexible). but when I go to cpanel, I get an error when adding the certificate: “The certificate uploaded is NOT for the domain name” please help.

Unfortunately, Cloudflare Origin Certificates aren’t supported here for some reason. Please use self-signed certificates from our “Free SSL Certificates” tool instead.

Although I don’t quite understand what you mean by “add cloudflare ssl (flexible)”. You don’t need to add anything if you go for the flexible SSL.

thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. Is there anyway I get free lifetime ssl? the free version on infinityfree is only for 3 month.
Also, I meant “I chose flexible” not add. sory english is not my main language. Cheers

The only way for a ‘lifetime’ certificate is to use Cloudflare’s flexible ssl mode (Technically, it’s not a lifetime certificate, but CF auto-renews for you).

I recommend using Cloudflare’s Full SSL mode, with a self signed certificate on IF (valid for 10 years)

I tried CF flexible, but while trying to add the certificate it ended up with error: The certificate uploaded is NOT for the domain name” … is there any fix?

Are you trying to install a GoGetSSL/Google/LetsEncript certificate, or are you trying to install a SelfSigned one?

When you are requesting the certificate in the client area, make sure you are spelling the domain and TLD correctly.

this is driving me crazy. its been 3 hours trying to fix this. yes im trying to use a selfsigned. I spelled the domain correctly. I use cloud flare, chose the full mode. I issue the certificate, in the panel it says its installed and its green, but when I click “Manage” it says there is no certificate. omg pls help

Help yourself! We have a guide written specifically about this exact error:

The main selling point of Cloudflare Flexible SSL is that it does NOT require ANY SSL to be setup on the target hosting server.

There are about a 100 different buttons in the client area that say “Manage”, and at least three places I can think of where it shows things about your SSL certificate.

Can you please be a bit more specific which page and what information you’re referring to exactly?

I just checked your account and there are two Pending certificate order. No certificates have been requested yet, let alone installed.

On the hosting account itself, I see that you installed a Self Signed certificate, which is working.

However, your website itself does not seem to be accessible. When I try to access it, I get an error saying SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP. That means the connection between my browser and Cloudflare does not work. That’s not something you can solve on the hosting side, it’s most likely a configuration at Cloudflare.

Common on new domains just added to cloudflare, when the edge certificate ain’t ready yet. Other possibilities that I haven’t heard of exists, of course.
