Cloudflare certificate

Hey there,
I’m trying to get an SSL certificate issued but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have cloudflare working fine on their end but when I request a certificate from Cloudflare with the CSR and key generated from cpanel I get the error “The certificate uploaded is NOT for the domain name etc etc.com.”
Altering cloudflare from Cpanel doesn’t work but I can alter it from the cloudflare website.
Not sure what to do here, would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
It’s because the common name of that certificate does not match your domain, for example sni12345678 is a Cloudflare ssl shared cert common name and that common name doesn’t match your domain name. This is also why wildcard certs can’t be installed here.

In conclusion Cloudflare certs can’t be installed here on InfinityFree unless you buy a certificate from Cloudflare or Comodo that is dedicated to your domain only.

Also Cloudflare is not a known CA, they are just cross signed.

What would be the easiest (and cheapest) way to obtain an SSL certificate that I can install on InfinityFree? I don’t care if it doesn’t come from Cloudflare I just want an SSL certificate. Thanks again for your help

Cloudflare!
Cause they will install it on your website and the shared universal ssl will be gone and will be changed to your new one.

Also please note that you will have to install the ssl manually to the origin and meaning of this is you’ll insert your cert in the Control Panel.

Actually, Cloudflare is not an SSL vendor at all. They provide SSL connections for sites on their network, but they don’t provide valid SSL certificates. You need to get a certificate from a real certificate authority (like Comodo) to install it here.

On the other hand, if you use Cloudflare, you can forgo installing an SSL certificate here and let Cloudflare do the SSL for you.
