Changing email error

Hi,

I’m trying to update my email address on InfinityFree because my current email is no longer available. The company that provided my email service has shut down, and I can no longer receive messages.

When I go to my profile settings, I click on “Edit Email Address,” enter my new email, and it prompts me to verify the change. However, when I try to confirm it through the email, I get a “Bad Gateway” error when logging in:

I also attempted to log in with my new email, but the page says it’s not registered yet, so I’m unable to confirm the change. It seems like there might be an issue with the page or the system.

Could you please assist me with resolving this?

Hmm, yes, this is an error that occasionally happens. I think it’s a server configuration issue on our end, but it’s hard to reproduce so it’s hard to tell. It seems to be cookie related though.

Here is a workaround you can try:

  1. Request another password reset link.
  2. Logout from the client area.
  3. Clear your browser cookies, at least for dash.infinityfree.com.
  4. Click the confirmation link in the email, and follow the rest of the process.
