Hi, I need to upload a PHP 7.4 website but I can’t find a good solution to change my PHP version in the control panel.
Can you maybe help me changing the PHP version?

it is impossible to change the php version, because of the way Infinityfree sets it up, as it could greatly impact other sites’ functionality, and break certain things. So it will be forever set to the current version, if you don’t like it then find other hosting.

You can’t downgrade php. Why not try locally?

We will regularly update our PHP version so we always run an up to date, actively maintained and secure PHP version. We will not run outdated, unmaintained and insecure PHP versions.

And PHP 7.4 went end of life in November 2022, so it’s definitely outdated and unmaintained. And if it’s not insecure yet, it’s only a matter of time until it will be.

Instead of trying to downgrade your hosting to run outdated website code, please consider upgrading your website to run on newer versions of PHP instead. In my own experience, the upgrade from PHP 7 to PHP 8 was basically effortless.
