The SSL manager seems to be working fine from here. Where do you see such an error? Which buttons do you click, what do you enter?
Hi admin,
I am also facing same issue while uploading the ssl certificate in SSL/TLS configure(Cpanel).
I have get ssl certificate from sslforfree.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Admin,
I have paste the ssl certificate in the empty box in SSL/TLS configure and trying to click the “upload certicate” button. We are facing this issue like below,
** Forbidden**
You don’t have permission to access /panel/modules-new/sslconfigure/uploadcert.php on this server.
Thanks in advance.
I don’t get that error. I’d love to fix it, but I can’t verify it exists.
Hi Admin,
I am a new comer and am having the same issues with SSL, trying to load my free certificate and getting the exactly the same response as member - dpounraj from the Upload Certificate request.
Any way I can assist with this just ask me.
I still haven’t been able to verify it exists.

my free certificate
Which free certificate are you referring to? And which certificate vendor do you use @iHAVOK and @dpounraj ? It could be that this is an issue with a specific certificate issuer.
Hi Admin,
I used - Acme Client aka .well-known/acme-challenge - they offer free SSL certificates, but having seen some of the comments when searching on google it seems many people have a similar problem on their hosting servers, I only looked quickly but something to do with encryption.
Hope this helps
Norman
Sorry forgot to add in the main name, it’s “Let’s Encrypt” and I cannot find your company on their support list so maybe it will not work unless their cpanel add on is put on your servers.
Lots of companies support Let’s Encrypt which are not listed there. However, you should be able to host your Let’s Encrypt certificates here without any problems.
In fact, I just tried to do that and again, I didn’t get any errors.
Hi again Admin,
Did you upload the certificate only using Infinity CSR or did you also upload their CSR onto the server
NormanH
Hi again,
Just to inform you that most of the issues with my being unable to load SSL seem to be with a certificate name mismatch, Lets Encrypt mentioned this as well. Not sure if when I registered my website name it was input onto the certificate or if the certificate just has .rf.gd and acts as a blanket but I did an SSL Test the results of which I have attempted to attach to this comment but am unable to do, will mail it if needed. Hope it helps. NormanH

You cannot upload a CSR. A CSR, or Certificate Signing Request, is only used when generating a certificate for certain private key. After the certificate has been issued, you can just throw it away.
I used sslforfree.com myself for the certificate and uploaded the private key and certificate issued by them. But you could also generate the CSR here and give it to Let’s Encrypt and only use the certificate provided by them.
Let’s Encrypt supports issuing certificates for subdomains as well, so that probably isn’t the problem. However, you can only issue 5 certificates per root domain per week with Let’s Encrypt, so it’s not really possible for everyone to create certificates for their free subdomains.
Hello once again,
Obtaining the certificate is not the issue here but uplaoding it to the server is. I have been working on this for most of the weekend and today, and have still not resolved the upload problem.
Getting the testing done was a minor problem but this was overcome by uploading the LetsEncrypt issued verification file to Htdocs then using the move facility so it could be placed in the folders LetsEncrypt requested were made.
My certificate was issued but when I tried yet again to upload it via the SSL panel I got the same as most other people seem to be getting both in this discussion and others under different heading throughout the forum…
_ Forbidden**
You don’t have permission to access /panel/modules-new/sslconfigure/uploadcert.php on this server.****_**
Perhaps you could upload my certificate for me if I send it to you as you seem to have no problems performing the upload. I am willing to send you my User ID and Password as I can change the password as soon as it is done.
Thanks for listening/reading/helping, with regards
NormanH
OK, can anyone please give me the exact steps you performed that you get this error? Which buttons do you click? What do you enter in which form fields? Because whatever you’re doing, you’re probably not doing what I’m doing.
Hi, I will be as exact as possible.
In SSL/TLS - Against the domain I want SSL on, I Click “Configure” This takes me to a page with 3 boxes - 1= Private Key 2= CSR 3= Certificate - opposite to box 1 are 2 buttons marked Generate Key/CSR and Upload Key respectively. There is nothing next to the box number 2. Box 3 also has 2 buttons, 1 marked Delete Certificate and Upload Certificate.
Firstly I press the generate key/CSR next go to website to load in the CSR for production of the certificate. Follow their request of Manual Verification by uploading the file to the folders created in my domain area outside of the htdocs.
Once verified I copy the certificate issued and paste it into the Upload Certificate box in SSL/TLS press the Upload Key button and then press the button marked Upload Certificate.
That’s when the Forbidden warning shows.
Hope this helps
NormanH
@NormanH I’m still not exactly sure why you’d see a Forbidden error, but I do know that in the way you described I don’t think you can upload a valid certificate.
There are two ways to upload a certificate, using a private key generated by us or a private key generated by SSLforfree.com.
To use our private key:
To let SSLforfree.com generate the private key:
Following either of these two steps should work. Make sure you’re copying the right text to the right field.
Sorry about this Admin,
Method 1 - I have followed the letter and still get Forbidden when I press the Upload Certificate key. Maybe your right and the Certificate is not valid for some reason. With your permission I would like to either post a copy of the SSLforfree.com Certificte issued on this forum or send it to someone for validation, whatever you suggest.
Method 2 - Where or How would I get the Private Key from SSLforfree.com as I cannot see anything about it on their website. LetsEncrypt say it is stored in the users browser but how can I see/access it for pasting into the Private Key area. Maybe this is the way forward and what I need to do to resolve my problem.

You could post the certificate here (you can read it from a website but it’s useless text if you don’t know the corresponding private key, so make sure you never publish the private key) or send it to [email protected]. I can try to upload it for you or check why it doesn’t work.

After SSLforfree.com generates the certificate, they show the private key they generated as well. If you didn’t save the private key at that time, I don’t think you can retrieve it. However, you could just issue a new certificate to get a fresh private key and corresponding certificate.
