Can't get why I got suspended due to "abuse"

Hi guys.
I got suspended. I used the support ticket and got the answer as follows:

It appears your website was incorrectly detected as abuse by our anti fraud systems.
We have reactivated your account, apologies for the inconvenience.
You may continue to use your free hosting account now.

10 minutes later…

I was back and was able to see my site for 3 minutes or so, and then got suspended again.
Please help reactivate.

If this is your anti fraud system’s error, could you also not count this and my previous suspension history?
I forgot how many suspensions you can take till you get permanently kicked out, but considering things like this can happen again,
I’d really appreciate it if you could keep my suspension history a little cleaner…

Got reply

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting.

The following files uploaded are not allowed on a free hosting plan and have been removed:

epiz_269*****/htdocs/xxxx/menu.html

We would love to host this kind of content on our premium servers please consider upgrading to iFastNet premium where that is allowed and there are 100s of benefits!

You may continue to use your free hosting account now.
Please allow 10 minutes for account to be online and log out of your cPanel.

So I asked…

Thank you for your reply.
Could you please specify the reason why that page is not allowed?
It’s just a page using a simple HTML/CSS codes. files size is 21KB. It does nothing flashy.

Please explain as I am very puzzled.

Got reply

Hi there,

Sorry, I can not provide details on our abuse filters unfortunately.

Thank you and stay safe !
Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

I asked again…

Thank you for your reply.
You said it was “incorrectly detected as abuse by our anti fraud systems.”
But now you are saying these are caused by what I’ve done and you cannot tell me what the issues were?
I do’t get this. I’ve been using very little resourses…no heavy , flashing things on my sites.

If they were indeed your system’s error, please fix it and reduce my suspension counts as others can be victimized any time, too…
Thank you very much for your help.

Got reply

I feel my request got ignored…This really upsets me…
:disappointed_relieved:

Please help as all I am asking at this point is clean my suspension history if they were indeed your system error as you told me initially, and fix it so that it won’t happen again…

#UPDATE menu.html page got deleted again.
automatic response confirmed.
No matter how I ask, I don’t get response. Please see below.
Index page gone means no access allowed to the site.

(((asking for support ))))
Hello. So this is suspension three times in a row… could you specify the reason please?
I don’t abuse your rules.
I need to go to sleep & wake up in a few hours to go to work…can’t take it anymore right now.

Thank you.

Hi there,

You have just experienced iFastNet’s support system. They seam to enjoy avoiding the issue, and telling you absolutely nothing useful. Unfortunately, accounts suspended for ‘abuse’ are not managed by InfinityFree, but by iFastNet instead. You will probably get nothing more useful out of their support. Maybe try changing the filename? Posting the contents of the file here might allow us to point out what they are mistakenly beveling is the error.

Thank you very much for your message, Greenreader9.

I will upload the files here when I get back home.

Every time I used the file manager they gave me suspensions, so I’m scared to open it now.

It really saddens me that the visitors can’t reach my site nor can I write a letter to them because index page is deleted (as well as all the other pages except error page…!)

Dear Admin,

If they won’t let me use your services for the reasons they can’t explain to me, then, could you at least help me build an index page where I can at least write a letter to my friends who’ve been visiting my site?

And, please bring light to a case like mine because some people may think twice before using this service which will kick you out for no reason if you don’t upgrade.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but right now, I’m left helpless.

Thank you.

The filemannager will not suspend you. You have unlimited use to FTP, so don’t worry about that.

To create an index page, just create a simple HTML file called “index.html” in the /htdocs folder. Or is your account still suspended?

Hello! I’m back with the deleted pages here; Index.htlml and menu.html
index.html (6.9 KB)
menu.html (20.8 KB)

My site is here:
https://thevoicethatbelongstoheaven.infinityfreeapp.com/index.html

with the address below. it will show “skeletons” (Directory Listings)
I was wrong in that my other pages got deleted, they actually do exist, but with this page
shown I’m afraid people would just leave, and I would not like them to click these folders for
fun,either :worried:
https://thevoicethatbelongstoheaven.infinityfreeapp.com/

The reason why I bothered to copy paste the exchanges between the support staff at my first post is that I wanted to show if people were in my shoes, many of them would have asked the same questions.

I’ve got suspended three times before, because I was using WordPress at that time and I indeed was using lots of resources. I understood the situation thanks to people’s help here so I abandoned WP, built the site from scratch on my own.

This is just a small , private site which is meant to be a tiny flower on a street which people may never notice. I don’t intend to make it bigger nor do I start business here. Upgrading for a site like mine doesn’t make too much sense especially when I have never been given adequate explanations for getting suspended three times.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your message, Greenreader9. When I was back from the suspension, I uploaded the index.html and they suspended me again. So I would not like to repeat it :confounded:

Thank you for the info, SirEpiclyDevelper.

40 seems still afar, but I honestly don’t want to be threaten like this anymore.
I can’t get back in the first place because my index.html and menu.html are taken hostage anyway. (they will suspend me if I re-upload them, as they’ve already done so twice)

And Admin won’t help. What can I do? Pack up and leave, I guess.

Well, thank you guys for at least having listened to me.
Hope nobody won’t get treated like this.

delete the account and remake it.

Thank you for your advice.
Is that what people do?
To think this may happen again, I’d rather not use this service anymore.

Thank you anyway! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

There are two issues as play here:

  1. We have a system that automatically scans uploaded files and takes down accounts where anything harmful is uploaded. This is an unfortunate necessity given how often people try to use our hosting for bad stuff. And once a false positive occurs, it’s very hard to “fix” that. If it happens, you’re probably better off not hosting that file.
  2. iFastNet’s people who review the accounts are not always clear or consistent. Expect many canned replies without specific information to your case.

Hi, I have downloaded and checked your files. They do not seem malicious to me. One thing you could try and see if it works is separate the HTML from the CSS into 2 different files and see if that works.

Thank you Admin and Nadora for your messages.

I understand what you mean by " unfortunate necessity" and I figure I happened to be blown away in their attempt to get rid of malicious attacks along the way, so no hard feelings here.

I just hope their system gets better so as to minimize their errors and hope there will be some taste of humanity in their communication in the future. But at least I got human responses here and I truly appreciate it. I know I shouldn’t take your free service for granted, either.
Anyway I’ll move on, for I can’t really change file names or fix index.html & menu.html as they are lifeline of the entire contents, as their names suggest.

Thank you very much and wish you guys all the best. :hugs:
