Cannot use Softaculous

Hi, I had just recently found out about a critical security update on one of the software on my site that I had installed via Softaculous. I went into the cPanel, and opened softaculous to find an error “Your IP Address has changed. Please try again.” I logged in again, and it worked, saying it was redirecting, then the same error popped up. Please help me solve this error

Wow. I just visited icanhazip.com and the last part of my ip address changes every time I refresh. I wonder why? Google shows it as the same each time, though. That’s weird.

The sessions to Softaculous are locked to a specific IP address for security reasons. So if your IP address changes with every request, you will be kicked out after trying to login. Unfortunately, the rest of the Softaculous security model is a bit lacking, so the IP locking is pretty much mandatory.

You could try this with a different internet connection which does keep the same IP address for a while, or you could try to contact your internet provider to see if this is something that can be fixed on their end.

It used to work using my mobile data, but even that doesn’t work anymore. It still shows the same error? Is there any way you could “reset” my Softaculous session data and fix it?

You get a new Softaculous session whenever you click the Softaculous button in the control panel. So I can’t reset your session and resetting the session will not fix it if your IP address constantly changes.
