HI, I am trying to make a manual backup of my website by downloading a zip archive.
I select technospace.xyz folder and click download. Few days back it used to work fine but now it returns http 500 error.The server is unable to process your request.Please help me.
Was your website changed in any way during that period of time? The most likely explanation I can think of is that your website is too big so the file manager crashes because it can’t generate and send the zip file in time.
The best way to download your entire website is by using a separate FTP client like FileZilla. With that, you can simply copy an entire directory to your computer, regardless of the size.

I don’t know the limit. It’s a natural limit, it’s not something we created on purpose. The file manager is a simple thing and it’s great for making some quick changes, but it just falls over if you try to do something big with it. And that’s fine, because it’s only a web based file manager. For the big stuff, you really should use a desktop FTP client.

There is a timeout limit of a few minutes, however if you queue an entire htdocs folder to be downloaded, FileZilla should keep the connection open. Simply drag the htdocs folder from your hosting account to your own computer in FileZilla and let it run for some time.
