Yes, the FTP server address is an IPv6 address, but our FTP server does not support IPv6. Most likely @HTaylor is on an IPv6-only network, and they are connecting to the FTP servers through an IPv6-to-IPv4 gateway server operated by their ISP.

Unfortunately, we see a lot of issues with these 6to4 gateways and FTP. FTP is a finicky protocol, and poor connection handling by routers and internet providers can result in them breaking.

I think your best option here is to use a VPN to connect to the FTP server. Most VPNs do have IPv4 connectivity, which should avoid this IPv6/IPv4 issue.

Hello, KangJL. Thank you for responding to my plea for help.

I am using FileZilla v 3.66.5

I read Infinity Free guidance notes and I:

(1) Logged into my account and onto the control panel.

(2) I then changed by account password and my control panel password.

(3) I then changed to using ‘ftp.epizy.com’ when ‘ftpupload.net’ failed to work.

I had setup the FTP several months ago but connecting failed a few days ago. I will attach the log-file that FileZilla generated a few minutes ago.

Please help me spot what I am doing wrong.

Regards,

Hubert Taylor
