Bingbot Can’t Crawl — Is it Blocked?

Hi,
Bing says my site is “Discovered - not crawled.” robots.txt is open and meta tags are fine.

I contacted Bing support and got this reply:

Your server may be configured to accept requests from Bingbot only from specific IP ranges. Since the Bingbot IPs change, you may be blocking valid requests. Please check server settings to avoid blocking our crawler.

Does InfinityFree block Bingbot or restrict crawling in any way? This issue seems to only be with Bing and not Google.

Thanks.

Bingbot is not blocked, usually that message shows when Bing is aware of your site but has not yet checked it out. That process can take anywhere from a week to several months.

I have contacted Bing support and they told me the issue is that some Bingbot IPs are blocked. I haven’t blocked anything and I cannot whitelist the IPs.

Bingbot it not blocked, but other Microsoft crawlers are. If you use a Microsoft web check tool, it probably will fail. The actual Bingbot crawler is not blocked, but you can’t request that crawler on demand.

Thats bing’s standard reply.

I had the same issue when I was hosting from my home server, I whitelisted their bots IP’s as provided by them, and they still said some of the IP’s were blocked.

It’ll take a bit of time, but they’ll index your site, don’t stress
