big problem, stolen domain name?

hello everyone
big problem with my hosting, my domain name was stolen and the dns information changed! how is this possible and what can I do??

Can you please tell us more about what makes you say your domain was “stolen”?

What I see is that the domain blackmoresnight.fr was newly registered on the 6th of November this year (so 4 days ago), but it was added to your account long before that.

It sounds to me like you had this domain before, but did not renew the domain name in time. Because of that, the domain name expired, making it free for anyone to register, and someone else picked the domain up.

If so, the domain wasn’t “stolen” from you. It was released, and someone else registered an available domain.

If you believe that you did renew it, or didn’t get the opportunity to renew it, please contact your (former) domain name provider about this. They should be able to tell you more about what happened to your domain registration.

I can’t speak for them, but seeing how someone else legally picked up an available domain name, I don’t think there is any way to recover the domain name, regardless of who is at fault.

And just to be clear: if you have your own domain name, you are still responsible for the domain registration. We only provide free hosting, and pointing a domain name you purchased elsewhere to our hosting doesn’t mean that we’re also responsible for the domain registration itself. You are responsible for maintaining (and paying for) the domain registration with a provider of your choice, and for renewing the domain name in time for as long as you would like to keep the domain.

If you assumed that since you were using our hosting, you didn’t need to renew your domain name, you assumed incorrectly. And if so, because you didn’t renew the domain, the domain expired, and is now lost.

Hi,
Of course I never said it was your fault, but I think my domain name was stolen somewhere else and it’s not because I didn’t renew it. Look at the site now, Blackmore’s Night is the name of a music band and has nothing to do with this site.

I guess the best option for now is to delete the domain on your site, right?

I have another domain name “blackmoresnightfrance.fr” on site.fr, how can I redirect it to your site?
Thank you

I don’t really know what’s going on because your dashboard is not in English

Set the nameservers to ns1.epizy.com and ns2.epizy.com

To clarify my previous point: regardless of what happened to your domain name, your domain name provider should be able to tell you more.

All I can tell from my end is that the domain was registered by someone (presumably not you), on the 6th of November.

How that’s possible, we can’t tell you, because we’re not responsible for your domain name registration. So it’s impossible to “steal” the domain from you here.

Thanks for your reply but I’m a beginner and I really don’t know how to add my domain name to my infinity free account (I don’t remember…)

Just go to your account and there is a big Add Domain button that guides you through it.

If you want a bit more information, we also have an article about it:

I made a mistake, index.php was deletes in htdocs and I have this screen now, how can I create it again?

By reuploading the index.php file. InfinityFree doesn’t store any backups. If it was part of a CMS or script of some kind, you may need to reinstall it.
