Am having trouble installing plugins in wordpress and downloading backup files (manually and through plugin)

Hi! I am having trouble installing plugins in wordpress and downloading backup files (manually and through plugin).

Previously my site was down, but two days passed and it worked again. However I want to make a backup but I can’t. What would be failing? Thank you.

Hello there,

InfinityFree does not really recommend using a backup plugin, also backup plugin does not work well here especially because of some limits, you can try the old fashion way like compressing all your site files and transferring them to your local device.

You can refer to this Knowledge Base article for more detailed instructions and information:

Hello, thanks for answering. NO plugin can be installed on my website. Nor can backups be done manually (old-fashioned). Try to do a backup manually but not all files are saved and when trying to lift the site it looks incomplete and not functional.

Yes me as well. Before I made a new account on infinityfree I had a website on which I could not install any plugins. Does this have to do with the PHP 7 upgrades that are going on?

The PHP 7 upgrades have already finished, at least that’s what I think. You might need to install them manually, if you can’t, reinstall Wordpress manually. Make a backup with Softalucous once it’s up again.

Edit: Reinstalling WP might help you be able to install plugins again.

How can I remove a web space to reinstall the website from scratch?

Please see the KB article about this:
