A trusted (SSL) certificate was not found

Username (e.g. epiz_XXX) or Website URL

Error Message

A trusted certificate could not be found

Other Information

I went through the entire process today:

  1. Created account to host my blog
  2. Requested SSL certificate and waited for it to be issued
  3. Uploaded Private Key and SSL Certificate (GoSSL) in the SSL part of the Client Area
  4. Verified I could access the root of the site (the Index page) using a secured connection (https://) and it worked; therefore the SSL certificate is installed

Now, I wanted to install the Softaculous WordPress application so in the client area I went to Software | Softaculous and then:

  • Selected WordPress application software
  • On WordPress I clicked on Install and the Wordpress script page came up
  • Under Installation URL I added ‘blog’ as the folder (does not exist) and selected “https://” as protocol

But, as soon as I do and let it validate, under the URL I get the “A trusted SSL certificate was not found” so how can it NOT be found if it is installed and I can access the index page with HTTPS?

You can still install it, that’s just a warning.
You can safely ignore the message if SSL was properly installed and is working.

Or…

You can just install it on http and then later change the site address & password & username.

I would ignore it and install anyway. After you get WP installed, install the “Really Simple SSL” plugin, and all should work fine.
