Just some fun facts: lsphp is indeed PHP compiled with LiteSpeed SAPI, but since it’s just PHP, one can actually use it on other web servers. Of course I mean some other servers you manage, not the free hosting servers

Just realized that if you just drag an image out of macOS’s photo app it gets compressed

Wow very good job Apple :expressionless:

Architecture: Operating system

Microsoft having peak IQ here :joy:

Well, I see you changed your username from @Frank419 to @Meishin! This is going to confuse me for a while!

Why the username change though?

I thought the images from my camera were already bad from the start…

When Microsoft can no longer specify 32-bit and 64-bit, and they don’t want to mess around with the installer…

Well this has become my most commonly used nickname on many websites including my own sites, so I think I’ll just change it here as well

Until you realized that they can still specify x64 and arm64

Funnier fact: CloudLinux supports doing exactly this on cPanel, by plugging lsphp into Apache. And even funnier than that (IIRC): iFastNet is doing exactly this on the premium servers.

Trying to spin up a Discourse instance so that I can have something to play

The first confirmation email never come through so that I proceed to change the Admin email — this time it come through, but then it says that the username is already taken.
I do not want a different username for the admin account, so I go ahead and did this:

./launcher enter app
rails c
User.destroy_all

It’s not soon before I realized I nuked discobot and system as well with this

So yep, I now have a partially broken site, and I’m now reinstalling it once again :expressionless:

Thats my kind of trick on linux…

On my server I was trying t o remove a particular directory (/vat/www/bookings) and accidentally hit enter after /… so I did sudo rm -r /

… that was bad…

I think modern Linux wouldn’t let that go through though…

his wife did what!?

do you have a working smtp server for that  . when you’re done, pass me your discourse link, also for funsies

I wonder what that means tho.. Could’ve sworn the error should be “Due to new session, changes to your account is restricted temporarily” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yep, though I mainly use a cPanel hosting for email…

I do have a mail notification service but that thing have a weird tendency to fail on non-Chinese email providers, so :person_shrugging:

Currently it’s just all fun, the server is actually paid monthly and I don’t know what domain I should give it

But it will reach production according to my plans :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I just checked it. It’s actually a feature that was recently a separate plugin, but then they decided to bundle a number of popular plugins. It was disabled by default here, but it’s possible that it’s different for new sites.

Normally no. But when you’re messing about as root, and have disabled some protection features, you’d be supprised.

Actually no. It’s also disabled on new sites.

Me installing Discourse and replying that was merely a coincidence, that reply was based on what I’ve seen on other Discourse forums where most of them have reactions enabled.

Then I’m actually not surprised :joy:

I’m not harrasing you though, don’t get me wrong.

This is Windows 11

Although it’s more unstable then you might imagine…

Interesting
