RIP Freenom

The message is expressed in a rather abstract way but is still understandable.
Just you might already figured it out lol
I recently noticed that China had improved the ban on raw.githubusercontent.com from SNI ban to SNI + DNS ban.
And accessing github.com is still a lottery — TCP/IP ban happens regularly and sometimes GitHub fails for me even it’s still working the last second.
Great job [REDACTED] ![]()
Hmm, that is goo to know. Of course, I have suspicions that they’ll no longer be free, but anyone would probably manage them better than Freenom did.
all that is quite a lot clumsy and sloppy
no notifications on the Freenom site
and this too on the Gandi
you don’t know how long you have to wait for contact,
does that apply to everything free or only to paid ones etc.
if I was told clearly that there are no more of my domains, then I would start deleting them from GSC and from CF
right now I have no idea what it should do ![]()
No surprise there. When the other extensions got taken away, Freenom acted like nothing happened too.
Gandi most likely got blindsided by this too. If you wake up one morning and ICANN tells you that you have to take over the business from another company yesterday, things will get messy. It’s not like they had months to plan, prepare and test everything.
The only thing being transferred are the domains from OpenTLD I think, as a result of their ICANN termination. Pretty sure Freenom’s registry business is separate. I wouldn’t expect a registrar to just become a registry overnight.
I sent a mail to Freenom so maybe they will answer (related to some posts on reddit).
Speaking of domains, here are some interesting things
First .com domain
On March 15, 1985, symbolics .com became the first, and currently, since it is still registered, the oldest registered .com domain on the Internet. The symbolics .com domain was purchased by XF .com in 2009.
I go to make a Meta account
I go to read the supplemental privacy policy (whatever that means - link)
I get this:
tune is sounding good

Thx.
The software is FL studio.
While it works on Linux, some third party plug-ins may not.
Looks like it uses Wine btw
