Thank you! The last few days have been busy thanks to some matters going on in my Uni; I am currently waiting to see when our exam period will start, and will likely be busy preparing afterwards.

Still, I have some free time now, so it is good to be back

Great, my dad just discovered that I use “Linux” instead of Windows. (Cuz I told him so lol)

Before that he saw me playing my computer many times, he just never noticed that it’s not Windows — I configured it to look like Windows.

Finally he can stop thinking about what can I do with my computer.

Not much, but you can play some if you install Wine. But tbh i don’t play games on Linux lol

Valve’s wine fork proton is pretty good these days.

But did anyone install Linux for playing video games?

Well… I code and I also play video games. There’s also some things that are harder to do on Windows.

It depends on what you call “gaming”. Linux doesn’t have those AAA titles but there’re a bunch of stupid mini games

Well, Rise of Kingdoms is a mobile game for the most part. I was mostly referring to Steam and ROBLOX. Even though I haven’t played ROBLOX in a while, I like to revisit it every once in a while.

To be quite fair, gaming has become an expensive hobby with how uncaring the game developers are regarding optimization nowadays.

Yep. I’ve been able to play DCS world, which simulates aircraft to extreme detail with ~90 FPS.

Meanwhile FS22, ATS and Arma 3 all have difficulty running well on my PC (although they had some graphics mods installed, but still)

While some games don’t have as much options for optimization as others, sometimes it feels as if they don’t do enough (IIRC FS22 still runs single-threaded)

RTX 3060 aint enough? lol…
