I am curious, have there been thoughts about whitelisting those specific connections? They would be useful in allowing WordPress and other software to communicate with their own APIs and solve many of the issues that are usually reported, but I’m not sure if there are any security concerns or if it would be a resource-exhaustive task that would not be easy to implement for the free hosting platform.
