My Chromebook officially hates me (I’ve said it before, but I have more evidence now).’

I was trying to mess around with Google DataSudio (I think it would be kind of fun without the lag) on a proxy browser so I could use my personal google account, and this is how it went.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

In case you are curious, I (5 7 minutes later) am still waiting for it to unfreeze, It wont turn off (Battery is at 88%, so it will take awhile to die), and I really don’t want to bring it to IT. Thankfully, I have access to a desktop for the next 30mins (But no proxy browser, so I can mess around anymore).

OxyDac knows already, but I forgot to transfer the files I was working on last night onto my Chromebook, so I can’t work on code, and I can’t work on DataStudio. Anyone have suggestions to what I should do with my time?

With it being frozen, besides sticking it outside or in a freezer (Can’t do that right now anyway) I can’t think of anything. Hoping it will come back within 20mins.

I had my chromebook frozen from ~~naively~~ running an overly intense program on the GPU. I left it overnight and it unfroze somewhere in-between.

Ahh yes, I remember those frustrating times where I had to code on a chromebook. Even with devtools allowed (accidentally) it was problematic!

I found a good IDE, except an IDE is useless when you left your code at home (Quite literally). And yea, no dev tools.

That’s somewhat promising I guess?

Code Pad Text Editor

Its not the best, but it works well enough.

This thing is lagging again. Sigh

I like it.

The annoying part is that CodePad auto-closes tags when they are created, but Sublime auto-closes them when you type “</”. Its so annoying, and the latter is so much better (Makes it easy to find tag errors too).

When I’m not on my PC, I download from MonstaFTP and then open the folder in vscode.dev. I like vscode.dev because it is literally Visual Studio Code in a browser. (But it only works in chrome and edge )

My downloads folder at home is 3+ GB, I don’t even want to scroll down that one, let alone sort it!

I have that, but I also use Zed code editor. Much better IMO.

What? Uh, no. There is no icon that lets you know the file in unsaved, there is no “Directory Browing”, etc.

If you like it, fine, but i’m sticking with my annoying tag-closing IDE for now. Thanks for the suggestion!

Done! Current projects on the main page, with quick access to side projects “OTHER PROJECTS” and my backups “BACKUPS”. I think I need to make them lowercase though…

Just spent 20 minutes re-designing a search bar, #WhatDidYouDoToday?

The new one smart-resizes, has a placeholder, and works exactly the same behind the scence.

Also spent another 20 30 minutes (Actually it was 30 minutes since I posted) redesigning the contact form (It really needed it).

It looks A LOT better now. Nice job!
I just noticed one thing: the Email Address label is not positioned the same as the rest of the labels.
