I have two domains on InfinityFree, both under my account. My main site is hosted on mayabeaming.site.je/ and is working fine. I want to make my second domain, mayabeaming.com, an alias/parked domain pointing to the same site, but when I try to add it I get the error:
“mayabeaming (dot com) is already assigned to an account and in use on another account.”
Both domains belong to me and they are listed on the same hosting account.
Is there any way to set this up without the wrongful error, or can Infinityfree support help reassign the domain so I can park it on my second account?
Looking at that site, it is linked to hosting somewhere. And the name servers are: ns1089.ifastnet.com ns2089.ifastnet.com
Have you previously used the domain on a different hosting service? If you’ve used it anywhere else on the IFastNet network it needs removing there before it can be added here
I looked up the domain and the answer is simple: the domain is already assigned to your hosting account. But it’s assigned as an Addon Domain, not a Parked Domain. If you want to have it as a parked domain, you’ll need to delete it from the Addon Domains list first.
Also, I strongly recommend to use the client area to manage your account instead. The control panel has a lot of strange and confusing things like this. The client area just show the list of all domains on your account (instead of hiding them in three different menus). And if a domain cannot be assigned because it’s in use, it will actually tell you where the domain name is in use.
