Wordpress Update Failed

There has been a critical error on this website.

Right now the site is down with only that message showing.

The error occurred while trying to hit the Update WordPress button from within the Wordpress Admin Portal. What do I do to repair or fix this issue?

I ended up just doing a manual update with FTP with a fresh copy of WordPress to go around the issue.
