Why is my website flagged?
I haven’t even published anything yet?
Where do I put my text from Google Search Console in the DNS here?
For site verification. My domain registrar said I needed to enter that HERE. Thank you.
Update: I entered the Cname host/destination to the records (from Google) for ‘proof of ownership’. Do you believe this will help resolve my issue/case?
Looking at the Safe Browsing status of your domain, it’s because Google thinks your site is “deceptive”:
As to why Google would say that, I don’t know, I don’t work at Google.
If you want to do DNS verification, then you need to set it with the provider whose nameservers are currently used on our domain, which is the DNS hosting provider for your domain. If you pointed your domain to our nameservers, that’s us.
CNAME record verification is probably easiest: we provide the feature and there should be nothing stopping you from using it.
Adding your domain to Google Search Console won’t make your website any more safe. However, it will tell Google that you are the owner of the site, which is one step forward in the process.
When your domain is verified, Google will show any “Security Issues” for your website, along with the option to request a review. Those “security issues” are that’s being put in the Safe Browsing database. So if you can fix the things Google tells you to fix and request a review, then Google should remove the Safe Browsing listing for your domain.
Ok, thank you.
Is there anyway of knowing my site was ‘hacked’?
ctp-energy.com MX 0 mx.ctp-energy.com
This is in my DNS records. Is that supposed to be there?
To know if your sites been hacked you can check Databases and code to see if anything has been added that you never added. Like some malicious code, or if everything has been cleared from a database, if your website has a login - logout and register system then check those pages incase it logs passwords, etc. And also check the databases users table (if you named it users), if anything has been changed.
I deleted my Joomla installation.
However, I WAS able to get into my administration login area before I wiped that particular Joomla installation. There was nothing in the admin records (at least there).
Just because Google doesn’t like your site doesn’t mean your site is hacked. Google also makes mistakes, and sometimes temporary marks sites as harmful for no apparent reason. Rarely, but sometimes, they flag an entire domain name from us and mark all subdomains as harmful even though your site is completely safe.
