Website serving old Hello World page at root URL

Website URL

https://joshanalytics.site.je/

Error Message

The root URL shows an old Hello World page instead of my current WordPress homepage.

Other Information

My current WordPress homepage works correctly when I add a query string:

https://joshanalytics.site.je/?test=123

But the normal URL:

https://joshanalytics.site.je/

shows the old “Hello World” archive page.

I have already checked the WordPress Reading settings, homepage assignment, permalink structure, WordPress installation, and files in htdocs. The correct Home page is still present and works when accessed directly.

I also noticed the current InfinityFree status about accounts being stuck in processing and a backlog of unprocessed changes.

Please check whether my account/domain is affected and why the root URL is serving the old page while the query-string URL serves the current homepage.

That is only for accounts being suspended or reactivated

Your problem is much simpler. You’re using a caching plugin on wordpress. You’ll need to clear the cache on the plugin and you’ll see the new page.

To confirm this, when viewing your site normally I see:

but if I change the url and replace i=1 with j=3 (changing it to an un-cached url) I see this:

caching plugins while they can help reduce resource usage, they can also prevent you seeing updates to your site.

Additionally, its important to remember that disabling the caching plugin, won’t stop wordpress serving the cached pages. you need to actually clear the cache of the plugin.
