### Error Message

failed to load folder contents

### Other Information

Hello InfinityFree community,

I’m deploying a Laravel 6 project to my free hosting account.

When I upload files through [FileZilla](https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client) to `/woyuk_app/app/` or `/woyuk_app/vendor/`, the files appear immediately after upload but disappear from the directory listing after refreshing.

The File Manager also fails to load the contents of the `app`, `bootstrap`, and `vendor` directories.

I have reconnected to FTP and tested uploading a small text file, but it also disappears after refreshing.

Could someone help me determine whether this is a directory listing issue, an FTP problem, or another hosting-related issue?

Thank you.

Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.

- Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
- Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
- AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.

_Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look._

Files that vanish after a refresh are usually being deleted automatically. This article lists the causes:

> [@Why are my files deleted after uploading them](https://forum.infinityfree.com/docs?topic=49310):

> Sometimes, when you upload a file, the upload is completed but the file is deleted immediately afterwards. This is usually caused by one of the following issues: The file is not in a htdocs folder All websites files must be uploaded to either the main htdocs folder, or to the domain specific htdocs folder (like example.com/htdocs). You cannot upload files to other directories on your account. If you try to create or upload files anywhere else, they will be deleted automatically. The file type…

The most likely one here is the path. You’re uploading to `/woyuk_app/app/` and `/woyuk_app/vendor/`. If `woyuk_app` sits at the top level of your account rather than inside `htdocs`, that would explain it. The article says all website files must go in the main `htdocs` folder (or a domain-specific `htdocs` folder). Anything created or uploaded elsewhere is deleted automatically, which fits your small test file disappearing too.

This guide shows the layout for Laravel. It puts the whole project inside `htdocs` and uses a `.htaccess` rule to route requests to `public`:

Can you check whether `woyuk_app` is inside `htdocs` in [FileZilla](https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client)? If it is, tell me the full remote path of the folder where your test text file disappeared.

If the path is fine, the article’s other causes are worth checking, mainly file size. PHP files over 1 MB are deleted, and so are other files over 10 MB. Some `vendor` files can hit that, but a small text file wouldn’t.

I can’t tell you why the File Manager fails to load those folders. I’d expect it to be a separate issue, and I’d like to see the path first.
