Unable to connect to the hosting system, please try again in a few minutes

I’m new to this site so I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong. When I get to the 2nd step of new account creation (Step 2: Domain Name) and I enter my subdomain name and click the “Check Availability” button it gives me the error:

Unable to connect to the hosting system, please try again in a few minutes.

After about 2 hours it still doesn’t work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I’ve been having similar problems today, seems like there’s some issue with the system right now. The pinned post about downtime says there’s been DDoS attacks, so it might be related? guess we gotta just wait and see ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah it’s strange since there was a message about how the server was back up a couple of hours ago but it might be getting re-ddosed.

So, my account had been deactivated due to inactivity (if0_36357855), so I went to reactivate it. However, when trying to reactivate it, I got an error message: “Unable to connect to the hosting system, please try again in a few minutes.”

I have same symptoms . It occurs on selecting a domain name of step 2 of creating account

There was an error caused by an update yesterday evening. The issue has now been identified and fixed. I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused.
