The website is always unsecure

I tried all the things suggested in the forum, nut the website is always “no https” and then unsecure. I have never found all these difficulties with wordpress on other osting services. I think tha I’ going to cancel my account.

If you still want to solve the issue please at least share your website URL as well as what you have done exactly, not just a vague message “I tried everything”.

I changed the .htaccess file and checked the setting in Wordpress.
But nothing changed. Now I deleted the domain. Perhaps I will start again with a new domain before cancelling my account

Since you have already deleted the domain I can’t quite tell but I think there’s another possibility that your domain didn’t have an SSL certificate to start with. Of course you cannot force HTTPS without having it.

Do you have any memories on doing this? If no, then when you decide to start again keep this in mind:

Free subdomains (like yourname.rf.gd) are automatically protected with a system-wide SSL certificate, and do not need (or support) custom SSL certificates. You can configure your website to use HTTPS right away!

I am in this category, then it was supposed I didn’t need custom SSL certificates

What’s your old domain?

spiritoevita.gt.tc

That’s weird, but since you have already deleted the domain there’s not much troubleshoot we can do.

I know… I’ll try again, even though I don’t know what mistake I did

were you making sure to not use the www. at the beginning of the domain?

Just now I’ve checked the browser history end I saw that was written : https://www.spiritoevita.gt.tc

That’s it, www. are not covered by the SSL and never will.

I used alway links on the website to get to my page

but I didn’t write WWW anywere when I create the domain

You need to make sure not to use www. when accessing your website. This includes on internal links within the site.

So within wordpress, make sure www. isn’t included in the site url settings

That means that automatically the system created a WWW subdomain, because, as you certainlly know, www does’t appear anywhere when creating a domain

Because you really don’t write (nor you can) www. when creating a domain. However, it’s still possible to access your website over www. due to some past system burden.

ahahhahah… now I understand, thank you. Bat the fact is that I always clikked a link on the page of infinityfree: i didn’t realized that it was requesting to get with www. Then to be sure I have to Setup a redirect to ensure all visitors use HTTPS, am I right?

You need to make sure that you are not using www. as well as redirecting to HTTPS. That will make your site secure.

Ok.. Iwill rebuild my “Spiritoevita” from the scratch, then I’ll try to setup a redirect. Thankyou for the patience (I was a bit frustrated)
