Error Message

The certificate you have entered does not match the current private key.

Other Information

I am a new user with only one domain. Have installed wordpress OK but now need to use SSL as the plugins demand it.
Step 1 - go to https://cpanel.epizy.com/panel/indexpl.php
Step 2 - Click on SSL\TLS in the Client Area
Step 3 - Choose your domain and click the ‘Configure’ button
I then get this screen, already populated with a private key and a CSR:

Now I’m stuck - if I choose ‘upload certificate’ of course I get the error “The certificate can not be blank…”
If I copy and paste the private key and certificate from those generated for me for my domain at Login to your account - InfinityFree, I get the error “The certificate you have entered does not match the current private key.”

How can I get SSL working?
Thanks in advance
Chris

You don’t need to generate CSR and only copy and paste private key and certificate from client area.

You do not need a CSR.

  1. Make sure all the fields in the control panel are empty.
  2. Copy the Private key from the client area to the “Private Key” spot and click “Upload Key”
  3. Copy the Certificate key from the client area to the “Certificate” spot and click “Upload Certificate”

Thanks for responding !

  • that’s the first thing I tried.
    As I wrote above:
If I copy and paste the private key and certificate from those generated for me for my domain at Login to your account - InfinityFree, I get the error “The certificate you have entered does not match the current private key.”

Reading your response more carefully, I’ve made progress, thanks!
The trick was to copy and paste the private key, then click ‘generate key’
Then separately, copy and paste the Certificate and click upload certificate
I was able to do these both with no errors, gr8!
None of the help I searched for mentioned this two-step process.
Now what do I do as nothing else seems to have changed?
The Login to your account - InfinityFree page still shows ‘No SSL Certificate was found’
The article at How to get Free SSL (HTTPS) on InfinityFree talks about adding CNAME records but they must already be there and there is no mention of what they must contain if, like me, you’re already using epizy nameservers?
Thanks again for any pointers.
C.

Waited a few minutes and thought to refresh the page - now the certs page has a green ‘Valid Cert installed’ so I’m sorted - thanks so much for getting me there
