Other Information

Hello InfinityFree Support Team,

I’m facing a serious issue with my hosting account. Everything was working perfectly until yesterday. After I updated one of my files (footer.php) in my subdomain project, the file size suddenly became 0 bytes, and I couldn’t open or edit it.

I deleted that file and tried to re-upload it, but now:

The upload progress bar stays at 0 MB.

The file never actually appears in the directory after uploading.

When I try to create a new file in that directory, I get an error: “Failed to load file, could not read file.”

Additionally, when I open any directory, the file manager automatically opens a random folder on its own.

My account details:

Hosting Plan: InfinityFree Free Plan

Disk Space Used: Around 15 MB of 5 GB available

Domain Type: Subdomain

I’ve already tried clearing cache, using another browser, and accessing via incognito mode, but the issue persists. Could you please check this issue on your end or advise me on how to fix it?

Thank you for your help.

How big is your footer.php file?

It sounds like you might be hitting the individual file size limit (1mb for php files):

if it’s smaller than 1mb, have you tried uploading through an FTP Client like Filezilla? This will help rule out an issue with the online file manager

My project is built in CodeIgniter 4.

As per the framework’s structure, I had placed /app, /system, /writable, etc. outside /htdocs and only /public contents inside /htdocs.

Could InfinityFree’s system be deleting or blocking files because of this structure?

You cannot upload files outside htdocs. This is by design.
