I got a free SSL certificate and installed it on my site. In WordPress I listed the web site as https. When I access the web site the browser says it is not secure when I try to access the WP admin the browser says “the site can’t provide a secure connection.” When I run an SSL checker it says the certificate is there but warns it may not be trusted by all browsers. How do I fix this?
You can’t fix that, but most modern browsers can automatically select root and intermediate certificates, thus making it secure. This is not an issue you have to worry about.
So is this just an issue you get with free SSL certificates? I tried using chrome and edge on a windows computer and safari and opera on a Mac and none of them would connect.
