I am asking for your help with all sincerity.
My hosting account storage is full, and because of that I cannot create a complete backup of my website files or database. I understand the limitations of the free hosting service and I am not asking for permanent extra storage.
What I am asking for is a way to save my website before I lose it.
This website is very important to me. It is not just a website. It contains memories, conversations, photos, and content that I deeply care about. Some of these memories are connected to a person who was very precious to me and is no longer alive. Because of that, losing this website would mean losing something that cannot be replaced.
I am respectfully asking if you could please help me with any of the following:
Provide a ZIP backup of my website files.
Provide a database export/backup from phpMyAdmin.
Temporarily increase storage so I can generate and download backups myself.
Suggest any other way to preserve all my files and database data.
I only want to make a complete backup so that nothing is lost. After downloading the backups, I am willing to clean up files and reduce storage usage if needed.
I know this is a free service and I truly appreciate everything your team does. I am simply asking for help because this website means a great deal to me personally, and I am afraid of losing these memories forever.
Please help me save my files and database if there is any way possible.

The problem I am facing is that downloading through FTP is extremely slow for me. Even downloading a very small file can take a long time, and backing up the entire website this way may take more than a day.
My old subdomain azizulehaqu.wuaze.com has been affected by the wuaze.com issue for a long time, and I only recently managed to regain access to my content by connecting my custom domain.

I have nothing to add here. The recommended way to backup your website is to download the files over FTP. It works reliably regardless of website size and does not consume any disk space, CPU usage or other website resources while the backup is being made.
Yes, it can be slow, especially if your latency to the FTP server is high. But it does work, which means you can make a backup that way.

I just wanted to share my experience. To improve the download speed, I created a remote Windows server (RDP) and started downloading the website through FileZilla directly from your FTP server. The download has been running for several hours already and more than 20642 files have been transferred so far, with thousands more still queued.
So FTP does work, but for larger websites the transfer speed appears quite slow, even when downloading from a server with a very fast internet connection. That is why I was hoping there might be another backup option available.

Enough is enough. Admin had already given you the final verdict, which is called backup with FTP.
You are not entitled to “need this admin” and “need that admin”. You said that you “completely understand this might not be possible” but I’m not seeing it from your actions.

This is the community support forum of a free hosting service. We are happy to help you when you are running into issues, but you have to keep a few things in mind:
Free hosting is a commodity service. There is one plan, with one feature set, which is the same for everyone. We do not provide customized offerings to anyone under any circumstances, for both technical and policy reasons.
Everyone here except for me are community volunteers. They do not have any system access and cannot do or check anything, they can only advise you based on the information you provide.
The only time when I will actually make changes is if our service is not working as intended.
You asked how to make a backup. The answer is FTP. You may not like that answer, but that doesn’t change the facts.
If you want to try something else, please go ahead and try. But if it doesn’t work, then don’t bother try asking us to make it work for you, because we won’t, we’ll just tell you to use FTP again.
A suggestion: if you are planning to delete certain data from your account, you could also export that over FTP first and then delete it from your account to free up space. Then you may be able to use other backup methods. That might be a useful workaround if exporting everything over FTP is not practical.
I followed the advice given in this topic and downloaded all website files through FTP. The transfer completed successfully with over 66,000 files transferred and no failed transfers.
I also restored the website and imported the database successfully. The HumHub website is now online and accessible.
However, I am facing a new problem. Profile pictures and some site content load correctly, but many post images and videos do not load properly. The posts themselves are visible, but the attached media files appear broken or cannot be displayed.
Because of this, I am concerned that some uploaded media files may not have been transferred or restored correctly, even though the FTP transfer completed without errors.
Could you please advise:
- Which HumHub folders normally contain uploaded images and videos?
- Is there any known issue with media files after migrating a HumHub site?
- Are there any specific directories, permissions, or settings I should check?
- Is there any way to verify whether the uploaded media files are intact on the server?
