I still stand by what I wrote three weeks ago:
Did I miss some big release since then which means all popular software supports it now in their stable releases?

Um, no. Not yet.
Only chrome 79 (stable) and firefox 72.0.1 (stable) have supported as of january 2020.
And is planned in 1.17 release of nginx.
