Hello, I have problems with changing the index2.html page the default that shows up when you just specify the domain name e.g xyz.epizy.com will display index2.html
It will not let me change it, even though I have the ability to write to it.
This is the error below
Error during FTP upload, permission denied at: "/htdocs/index2.html".
And I was trying to change the permissions too, but that gives me a not found error.
It is supposed to be a readOnly
file.
You should delete it then make your own index.html
or index.php
But it says i can write to it because i am the owner and i have permission to, but it won’t let me edit it. Permissions cannot be changed because it can’t be found even though it exist.
Well you have. But not about this file. This file just wants to be removed, So it won’t allow you to edit it
What do you mean it wants to be removed, did the people working at infinity free put in some secret permissions or something? That makes no sense.
The file is a place holder so that you know your site is up. Otherwise, you would only see an empty directory list. It has nothing to do with whether you can edit it or not. That file is supposed to be deleted, and a new custom index.html or index.php file needs to be created.
AFAIK the file is not owned by your user account, but by the system root user. But not all FTP clients show this well.
