my main domain is hosted in Infinityfree, but subdomain is showcasing some other site and not the one I have

Username (e.g. epiz_XXX) or Website URL

blog.rajeshp.in

(please specify the website or account you are asking about)

Error Message

blog.rajeshp.in CNAME record is pointed to hashnode.network in my CNAME records, but the DNS check shows some other entry and redirects to some other site.

Can someone help on how to fix it.

Did you create this subdomain?

Below is what I see…

Make sure to create the subdomain the the control panel!

I don’t want to create a subdomain in Infinityfree, I want it to be pointed to hashnode network so the blog can be created and published there.

Please see below CNAME record for sub-domain in the cpanel.

You have to create the subdomain in the control panel, otherwise the system will show a parking page.

Then do not use IF

KangJL, I hope you didn’t understand the problem.

I created CNAME record instead of subdomain and pointed the CNAME to other blogging provider which is the correct way to do.

Why do we need subdomain created separately when I can create the CNAME for the subdomain and point it to the other record.

You need to create the subdomain because that’s how this system works. I don’t understand you don’t want to do it, it’s not going to hurt anything.

If I create a subdomain I can’t point the CNAME record for that subdomain to other blogging portal.

I can create a CNAME record on my main domain for the subdomain and point it to the needed blogging portal.

Why not?

I think you’re supposed to add the CNAME record WITHOUT setting up the Subdomain. Adding the Subdomain registers the domain on our servers and sets up DNS records, which conflict with the CNAME records.

If you tried adding the domain there before, could you please delete the CNAME record and add it again? Maybe something messed up the DNS records.

Really? Well I learned something new today! Sorry @rajeshpapineni007

I can create a CNAME record on my main domain for the subdomain and point it to the needed blogging portal.

I have created subdomain first, and then recognized this issue. Then deleted the subdomain and it has been more than 3 weeks, now when I create a CNAME record for that deleted subdomain it doesn’t reflect. Can you please check if there is any issue at Infinity parking domains or some other records that are overwriting this record
