Additional information: I’m using Google Chrome on my Windows 10 laptop as well as on Android Pie smartphone. Same problem on both.
Firstly, my website has been down since like a month now. It doesn’t work very well. I always have to refresh it like 4 to 5 times for it to load. It just keeps showing me CloudFlare errors like 521: Server isn’t working, etc. I ignore them as my no-one anyways visits my website and I have kept it alive for myself (planning to shut it). I post some stuff on my forum (links to my videos in Google Photos - helps me organise stuff). But, from some time now, my directory ‘forum’ isn’t loading at all. All I get is a blank white page. My root domain: (https://www.compuro.ml/) works after those refresh attempts that I mentioned, but, my forum isn’t working at all. This clearly isn’t ElkArte script issue as I have used that forum a lot for testing, in different sub-domains, directories, etc., it never gave such an issue. Also, it was working till yesterday as far as I remember, or surely till day before yesterday (also, after the refresh attempts that I mentioned).
Can someone please help me with this? Even if I close my website, I need to see what all stuff is there and need to find my way to move it somewhere else (don’t suggest me website backup as I’d be completely closing this website and not at all hosting it anywhere - I’d just need to see and organise my content somewhere else).
@Admin Please say something? Anything to try? Any error on server end? I just want to see the data, if it’s gone after that, it’s fine. I haven’t even got a suspension notice (if that’s the case) and my account also doesn’t show suspended. Why is this happening?
Your home page is loading fine, and the forum page is responding with an OK status code and a blank response. I don’t see anything indicating there is a server problem.
I don’t have any experience with ElkArte, so I don’t know which circumstances could cause it to generate a blank page.
However, I know this can happen with WordPress if the theme your website is configured to use is no longer present. So then you need to restore the theme or update the configuration to use a different theme.
I have no idea if this is the case with your site or whether this is something that could happen with ElkArte at all. Maybe the ElkArte community or developers know more about why this could happen.
ElkArte is working on version 1.1.6 which brings PHP 7.3 support. Till then, they told me to lower my PHP version. So, I went to PHP version selector in cPanel and chose 5.6. But, my error wasn’t solved. So, they were like, it might be a server problem and told me to check php info and logs.
I went to account settings in cPanel and it shows that I use PHP version 7.0.
Now, I don’t know which version is correct. Am I on 7.3, 7.0 or 5.6?
Also, where can I find the logs now? Previously, we had it in client area, how to access logs now?
You can check PHP info by creating a PHP file with the contents <?php phpinfo(); anywhere on your domain and accessing it from the browser. That’s generally a good and easy way to know for sure which PHP version you’re on (as well as information about all other modules and settings about PHP).
PHP versions are configured on the domain level, not the account level. And your domain name is currently configured to use PHP 5.6.
The default PHP version is 7.3. The text in the Account Settings page is wrong, and I will get that updated.
