**What I’m seeing is: a Relay Access Denied error when receiving incoming emails. There is an error message saying that I need to add an MX record, which i have done. I am on the Infinity Free Hosing plan, so wanting to know if this is possible. Also I want to access mail from my iphone, is this something that i can do on the Free plan? The relay issue is not related to this, i am sending via gmail on a web browser and it’s still getting the same issue. **
You can’t configure the mail on your iPhone on this hosting; you should use the webmail instead. The “error message” saying that you need to add the MX record will not disappear after adding it, so you can safely ignore it. I don’t know if there is in the Knowledge Base the “Relay Access Denied” error for the incoming emails, but…
There is an existing article, but not sure i understand the resolution. Is says on it that “The error message implies that you are trying to use our mail server to send e-mail for your own domain. That’s unfortunately not supported on our free hosting”. What good is an email account if you can’t send to it? Not really a functional email if this is the case.
Hoping that this is me misunderstanding the situation as it seems a little far fetched that you can’t send emails but can happily receive them.
I just tried to create a test mailbox on your account and send a message to it, which worked without any problems.
I think part of the confusion is that you’re referring to Apple Mail. What do you use Apple Mail for in this case? Are you trying to use Apple Mail to send email FROM your domain name? Or only to access some other email provider to send a message TO the email address on your own domain?
Sorry for the confusion, Apple Mail is really a different question so let’s not worry about that for now.
I have an email address [email protected] and i want to be able to send and receive emails from this account using your webmail interface. I can send emails to a gmail account, but then when i try and reply or send emails from the gmail account it bounces back with a Relay Access Denied error.
I’m trying to work out why this is the case. I am on the free hosting tier, but this seems like the most basic of email functionality so i find it hard to believe that I am unable to send and receive emails when it claims that i get a free mailbox on it, but am looking for a reason for the issues.
Apologies again for any confusion with the apple mail stuff.
Thank you for clarification. Let’s ignore the Apple Mail thing for this topic.
As for receiving email, I created a test email address on your domain name, and I was able to send email to it from my GSuite address. So Gmail should work as well.
That said, yesterday, I saw you had an email account and today I only see an email forwarder. Do you experience this issue with both of them?
The Emails didn’t work, so i changed to forwarding. I get that you are able to add an account that sends and receives, but the account i added did not work. Perhaps i am missing a step here, could you recount the steps that you took in order to set this up?
Did the forwarder return the same Relay Access Denied error as the email account?
Adding an email account is as simple as it seems: go to the Email Accounts section, enter a mailbox name, select your domain name, choose a password and click Add. I don’t know why your last account didn’t work, but I was not able to reproduce the issue.
