my website has been down for weeks. unable to log into cpanel, and when i try to go to my website it says ‘error establishing database connection’. a few weeks ago it would even connect. my ip is 185.27.134.217

It’s more than that. I can’t even log into cpanel.

I do have a backup of my MySQL database, but I can’t even upload it without cpanel.

I just got in. I changed my password, and for some reason that worked. I was using the correct one before. I copied it from my client area, so I know it was right. But for some reason, changing it got me in!

I enabled wp_debug in wordpress and it said: This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at sql206.epizy.com . This could mean your host’s database server is down.

I then tried typing sql206.epizy.com into my browser, and I can’t connect. Does that mean infinityfree’s sql server is down?

Nevermind, I had to update my password in the wp_config file.

Now it says:

Holy shit. I removed that second declaration, and there was a third declaration later in the document. So I removed that one too, and now my website is working again!

No idea how those lines added themselves. I certainly wasn’t the one who did that.
