Lost InfinityFree account but websites still online

Hello Admin,

I’m trying to recover an old InfinityFree hosting account created years ago. I no longer have access to the original device and I do not remember the account email or username.

However, the websites hosted on the account are still online and I can provide proof of ownership.

Websites:

The portfolio website (amaramohandakli.rf.gd) publicly displays my contact email (the one I’m using right now) and my phone number, which I currently have access to. It also links to the second website in the (incolor.42web.io) which is a tool I built while learning javascript.

I’d be SO graceful if you help me recover the account or indentify the email so I try to recover it and log in!

Thank you.

Unfortunately, historically, admin has always said that he cannot help recover accounts. He’s been able to provide some hints towards emails, but thats it.

The client area lets you send a password reset email by domain name, which will send the email to whichever email address the account is registered to, even if you don’t personally remember which address you used. Then you just have to check each email inbox you have until you find which one has the reset email.

I know, but I have no longer access to that email address, that’s the problem. I really hope the admin could help at least tell the email address so I can try to recover that email!

if he tells me the email address name, that would be enough actually!

I’m sorry, but I cannot just disclose the personal information related to an account.

I would open all of your inboxes and just search for “InfinityFree” in each one. You would have gotten emails from IF in the past when you registered your account. You can also use the password reset function to send a new email if you think those old messages may have been deleted.

the issue is that I LOST access to the email I used to registered, and I don’t even REMEMBER its name.

Hi Admin, I understand that you respect the privacy of your platform’s users, but that account is mine and if you just at least tell me the name of the email address, I’ll try to recover it first then regain access to my old account, thanks!

That’s why I suggested sending the reset email then searching all your accounts for it.

But you can’t prove it’s your email. You could very well be a hacker trying to gain information on account you don’t own.

Bro, did you read my post carefully?
my email (not the one used for registration to that account) and if not enough my phone number that I’m still using up to day are mentioned in one of the websites I hosted on that account (the portfolio website), and if I was a hacker I wouldn’t share a post asking for the email address on the forum lol.

Unfortunately there’s not much we can do. As admin has said he can’t provide the email.

No amount of asking will change that

I’ll wait for Admin response, otherwise I’m asking to take the sites down because I don’t need them anymore.

He already responded to you:

You need to recover your email address to access your account. If you know the if0_xxxxxxxx username and associated password you can login to the control panel to take a backup of your website and migrate it to a new profile.

How am I supposed to recover it if I don’t even remember the name of it!!? and if I knew the username and password I wouldn’t ask you, thanks.

You might not be able to.

I’m which case you might have to accept that the infinityfree account is lost.

Not a great situation but that may just be the way it is

Not that fast, the portfolio website is added to google search console (with the same lost email) and appears in search results which I don’t want anymore (because that was just for testing) and now I’m asking the Admin to shut both sites down, and I’m ready to prove the websites belong to me not to someone else.

Admin will be able to explain how that process works. But if I remember correctly there’s an email address to send the request too…

Obviously any site with your personal data can be looked to be took down under gdpr/data protection regulations

Your personal data being displayed on your website does not prove that your own the profile that owns the account. Websites do get hacked and the content on them manipulated. And we will not risk giving a hacker who hacked one websites access to all other websites linked to an email address too.

However, if your personal information is displayed, there is one alternative approach you can take: report it as abuse.

If you state that your personal details are being displayed without consent, or you are being impersonated, that’s a valid reason for us to take down the account. If you can send that from the email address displayed on the website, that’s good enough for verification for us.

Doing so will not give you access to the website data or the domain name, but will take down the websites currently hosted on the account. If they are not reactivated (which they won’t be if you you can’t login to request it), it will be fully deleted eventually.

Hi, so how can I prove I created the websites? and that I own the profile?
