Let's Encrypt Firefox

As I’ve read on other topics here in InfinityFree hosting, there is an issue with Firefox and Let’s Encrypt SSL. But these seem to be much older dated topic posts. With InfinityFree’s Let’s Encrypt automated install feature now, is there anything I can do so that everyone using Firefox and browsing my site get the padlock? Or is that just not happening with the free InfinityFree hosting setup?

edit
I use Browserstacks.com to test my site, as well as various ssl validators. Not sure if time will resolve Firefox accepting my Let’s Encrypt SSL or if it’s a symptom of how InfinityFree does these free SSL Certs…? It works in Chrome on all devices.

Let’s Encrypt certificates should generally work fine with Firefox nowadays. If for whatever reason they don’t however, InfinityFree’s free SSL tool has more providers than just Let’s Encrypt.

The certificates themselves function the same as if you got them from the chosen provider manually. All InfinityFree does is simplify the process.

Cool, I’ve never had issues with InfinityFree SSL setup on the sub domains, this is more than likely a me issue! I just saw past posts regarding it, so wanted to check the deal lately. I’ll check the other SSL options too. Thanks for the response/reassurance :vulcan_salute:

Cloudflare setup was painless, my infinityfree site works on all browsers pc/mobile.

The steps I took (what worked for me, probably out of order because i’m a noob) to resolve the limitation issue with Let’s Encrypt SSL not working on Firefox (it worked on everything else, ie Chrome, Opera, etc)

  1. Added my personal domain to my InfinityFree
  2. Changed my domain nameservers where I got my domain to InfinityFree’s
  3. Request Let’s Encrypt SSL using InfinityFree’s automated process - Everything worked except Firefox browsers (I tested all browsers using Browserstacks.com)
  4. Setup Cloudflare account, it asked first thing to add a domain, I put mine in. It detected the settings and stuff, and told me to change my domain nameservers to theirs
  5. Changed nameservers where I got my domain.
  6. About 10 minutes later, everything was working, and the intermediate cert error or whatever went away on the SSLshopper.com and Digicert SSL checkers.
  7. Site has zero SSL issues on any web browser.

I really enjoy using InfinityFree for my simple site, and I’m glad it works well with Cloudflare in regards to SSL.

Note that there is also a community guide about setting up Cloudflare, that basically goes through the same process, but in more detail and with a few extra steps that may be useful for some domains:
