The online FTP is infamous for not uploading files correctly (sometimes it duplicates the contents). I suggest you use an FTP client like FileZilla to upload your files from your computer.

I just want to make it clear that the root of your website is htdocs and not the default directory that appears when you log into the filemanager.

Take note max file size is 10mb.
You can install Wordpress from Softaculous
