Currently, I have two websites on one account: address_1 has WordPress installed (PHP 8.3). I want to install PrestaShop on address_2, but it requires a maximum PHP version of 7.4. How do I change the PHP version to 7.4? Can I do this on one account, or do I have to create a second profile with a different website address.

It’s not possible to change the PHP version on free hosting.

And it’s fixed to 8.3 for all accounts, so creating a new account will not help.

How are you installing prestashop?

Because I have a site using it, that I installed from the script installer without any issues

A quick look at the Prestashop docs suggest to me that you’re trying to install Prestashop 1.7, which indeed doesn’t work on PHP 8. However, Prestashop 8 and 9 have been released since, and Prestashop 9 fully supports PHP 8.3.

So my recommendation is to use the latest version of Prestashop. And not try to get an outdated version of Prestashop to work on an outdated PHP version.

If using a newer version of Prestashop is not possible for some reason, then you’ll need to find different hosting for it. Premium hosting does support PHP version selection.
