I too Point my Nameservers to infinityfree but I get a namecheap error, after I contacted namecheap they told me this

Would it be worth a try to transfer it to namesilo and then look, just saw few times .de websites being hosted on namecheap

You cannot host .de domains here at all due to restrictions by the registry.
