FTP connection refused during website migration to o2switch

Hello,

I am currently migrating my website from InfinityFree to o2switch.

The o2switch support team is experiencing intermittent FTP connection issues. They can sometimes connect, but the connection fails while browsing the files.

Here is the exact error message they provided:

"Connection seems random and only works occasionally. The connection fails while browsing files.
FileZilla reports the following error:
ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server.
We also tried connecting directly via IP address: 185.27.134.11, without success.

This may be caused by a firewall block or another restriction."

Could you please check whether there is any firewall rule, IP restriction, or other limitation preventing o2switch from accessing my FTP account for the migration?

My guess is that they are trying with too many simultaneous connections. I think you’re limited to 3-4 connections at a time (I may be wrong on that) and so if they are trying to use a system with multiple connections… it fails.

You might be better taking a backup of your site yourself and sending it to them.

You really shouldn’t be giving out your FTP details to a third party, even if you’re intending to close the account here… its just not secure to do that
