A DNS error occurred while trying to create my account. Please try again later.

I’m trying to create a new account. After choosing a subdomain and clicking Create Account, the error above appears.

What happened? Is this an issue with InfinityFree, or is it only happening to me?

The answer is basically like the error message implies. A DNS error happened, it’s an issue on our end, and it’s temporary. Others may be affected, they may not be, but if you try again later it should work.
