Do you think this IP will be back up soon? Our school systems are down and we are looking for resolutions as fast as possible.
If some updates or optimizations are being performed on the server then it shouldn’t take long
but if it’s a DDoS then it can last for days because then the IP is “shut down” to save the network.
Unfortunately, I can’t answer you at the moment what the cause is.

I’m not sure about this specific case, but usually the reason an IP address is down is because it was the target of a DDoS attack. To prevent the attack from congesting our entire network and causing problems for all websites, we disable the targeted IP address to contain the damage.
If this is the case, the IP address will be brought back online when we have confirmed the attack is over. But as for when the attack will be over, that’s up to the attacker, so we cannot tell you when that will be.
