Domain propagation problem

Website URL

designbysara.net

Hi InfinityFree team, I’m trying to add my custom domain designbysara.net to my existing InfinityFree account, but I keep getting an “Error adding domain” message in the control panel. I’ve already updated the nameservers to ns1.epizy.com and ns2.epizy.com, and DNS propagation has partially occurred — it shows up in 3–4 global locations — but it’s been more than 48 hours and the domain is still not accepted. I’ve flushed my local DNS cache, checked that the domain is not connected to any other InfinityFree account, and confirmed that it’s not expired or locked via WHOIS. I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue so I can link my domain properly. Thank you!

Give it another 24 hours. it can take up to 72 hours to propergate

The problem is that your nameservers are not set to the correct values. You have set them to ns1.epizy.com and ns2.epizy.com, but they should be set to ns1.infinityfree.com and ns2.infinityfree.com instead.

The epizy.com nameservers should only be used if your account username starts with epiz_, instead of if0_. But all accounts created in the last few years have the if0_ prefix.

Where exactly did you get the information from that you should use epizy.com nameservers? Because those instructions are incorrect and should be updated.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that. I assumed that these were correct for OP, because she’d got them…

I don’t know, I was able to add a domain to my account once using the epizy.com NS. All of my accounts are if0_ prefixed.

The nameservers ns1/2.epizy.com and ns1/2.infinityfree.com are technically identical (they point to the same IP addresses and servers). Once the domain name is setup, it doesn’t really matter which of the two you use.

However, when adding a domain name to your account, the hosting platform checks whether the domain’s nameservers match the domain name of the hosting provider. That used to be epizy.com, but it was switched to infinityfree.com a few years ago.

Note that you can always use ns1.byet.org and ns2.byet.org, those are always accepted.

I don’t think the platform is entirely consistent in when it applies these rules. But I’m fairly certain that this is the reason you cannot add the domain to your account, I know that these rules exist and there is no other possible reason I can think of why your nameservers would be rejected.
